The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) works with construction site operators to make sure they have the proper stormwater controls in place. This is important so construction can proceed in a way the protects your community's clean water and the surrounding environment.

Construction site workers are responsible for minimizing pollutants released into stormwater from construction activities. Operators of the site must have a Construction General Permit (CGP) before beginning a project. All members of the Stormwater Team must understand and comply with the permit requirements specific to their responsibilities.
