As a professional driver, driving at night introduces additional challenges to a job that already requires a lot of attention. Low light makes it harder to see what’s around the vehicle, hazards can be harder to recognize at night, and once you spot hazards, there is less time to respond.
There are three major factors requiring focus when driving at night: the vehicle; the road; and the driver. Learning the challenges that come with each factor, and how to deal with them, will keep drivers safe on the road.
This course is designed to help non-CDL CMV drivers learn how to improve their safety while driving at night.
After completing this course, learners will be able to:
- Discuss the factors that affect safe night operation as they relate to your vehicle, the road, and you, the driver
